In 2023 I bought a tiny camera called Camp Snap. It looks like a disposable from long ago. I has no screen, no RAW, no nothing. It takes not very good JPG files BUT it has lots of charm and people have no idea you are taking their portrait simply because it is absolutely not to be taken serious. Therefore it is a perfect medium to take a specific kind of “candid” portraits where the talent knows a picture is taken but has no idea it is taken with the intent to make a portrait. Perfect for a project. (Also applies to phone portraits)
